Spotted for the first time by NASA's Saturn-orbiting Cassini spacecraft in 2005, a new picture shows the varied terrain of Saturn's icy, ocean-harboring moon Enceladus. Captured from a distance of 85,000 miles (137,000 kilometers), the picture shows that some portions of Enceladus' surface are much younger than others.

Describing the image that was released on December 21, officials from the US space agency NASA said the newer surfaces (as seen on the left in the image) would not have had time to accumulate craters.
